Made of aluminum and glass, they represent the meeting between the purity of water and the strength of the athlete. The unique properties of aluminum, including strength, flexibility, and finesse &#8211; properties inherent to athletes &#8211; are combined with the beauty of clear glass and textured &#8220;Water Glass&#8221; to complete the design of this unique medal. The clear glass evokes the purity of the athlete&#8217;s movement, while the &#8220;Water Glass&#8221;, with its texture and bluish color, reflects the water sports environment. When the light pierces the glass, the image projected onto the surface beneath the medal emulates the motion of waves as they appear at the bottom of a swimming pool. Laid flat, the glass set in its aluminum case evokes the paces of a swimming pool.
