Between the Tree and the Asphalt<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Description<\/h4>\n

Entitled “Entre l’arbre et le bitume” (Between the Tree and the Asphalt), this sculpture was conceived and created by Quebec designer Jean-Philippe Caron, as a tribute to the iconic Gilles-Villeneuve circuit. This contemporary work is made of aluminum, a material that is the pride of Quebec. Bright and unexpected, the route of the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit was sculpted in aluminum and glued to a cylindrical base. Raised on the point corresponding to the circuit’s hairpin, the eight radiating profiles form the tree and base of a tree. These eight identical branches recall the abundant presence of nature surrounding the legendary circuit used every year by the drivers of the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

Four trophies are produced annually by Protocole. A first place trophy, a “winning constructor” trophy, a second place trophy, and a third place trophy.<\/p>\n
