“Reaching New Heights”, the Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada 2023 trophy allegorizes the protective shape of the “halo” that protects the driver’s head when driving his single-seater. All in finesse, this abstract masterpiece embodies the speed and frenzy associated with Formula 1 racing. Each curve of the trophy reveals the very essence of the aerodynamics of F1 cars, while recalling the sinuous turns of the legendary Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. This trophy symbolizes the perfect union between mechanical power and artistic elegance. It expresses sporting excellence and celebrates the challenges faced by Formula 1 drivers in their relentless quest for excellence.
A symbol of refinement and distinction, the trophy is a creation of the talented designer Lili-April Allaire-Caron, industrial design student at the School of Design of the University of Montreal.
Made of solid Quebec aluminum, machined and then black anodized, the base of the trophy bears the official identification of F1 and discreetly presents the shape of the checkered flag. Still in aluminum, the trophy is anodized in a reflective gold color, whose smooth, shiny and luminous surfaces reflect passion. Like a flame that rises and points to the sky, this trophy celebrates the determination of the race driver to rise to the top of the F1 2023 Montreal podium.
